Grazia

Grazia, once called "Nauccibbib" in Arabic, meaning "hamlet of almonds," is located in the valley of Madonna delle Grazie, at about 200 meters above sea level. This area lies between the promontory of Bonsulton and the plain of Suvaki. The valley is characterized by small terraces cultivated with vineyards and olive groves.

In the hamlet of Grazia stands the small church of Madonna delle Grazie, built in 1793 on the remains of an earlier building. In 1919, a fire caused the loss of some sacred furnishings, such as the chalice. The current churchyard was created in 1928. Next to the church is the "Cesare Battisti" Agricultural Club, founded around 1921. This club hosts annual dance evenings during the carnival period, with music performed by local orchestras.

Every year on July 2nd, the community devotes great care and attention to a procession in honor of the Madonna delle Grazie. During this celebration, a banner decorated with fruits of the earth like grapes, apples, and figs was traditionally carried in the procession. The faithful, along the route of the procession, would throw flower petals from special baskets.
